As a single dog-dad, raising my rambunctious pup without Hunter's help would be impossible. I always look forward to Hike Day; I come home to a happy, tired dog every time. Hunter goes the extra mile to help me with training and grooming advice.
Without Hunter, Dillon would be a sniveling, snarling, white-hot ball of canine terror!

Rain Dogs is truly unique among companies offering dog walks and adventure experiences. I have looked for a similar outdoor activity in Toronto and now New York, and I find nothing like what Hunter provides! My dog would lose her mind every time she was picked up for her daily adventure with Rain Dogs crew, and came back pooped after hours of running in the outdoors. This daily play was so helpful for my dog's behavioral issues. Hunter was pragmatic, patient and kind with my dog's (and my) eccentricities, and knows how to balance a crew of different canine personalities. Rain Dogs is the crew you want to trust your dog with while you are away!

We started sending Merlin with Rain Dogs one day a week for a 3-hour hike to make sure that he had a chance to socialize with other dogs and release some energy as a puppy -- and it's seriously been a life saver! 1) It's really comforting to know that one day a week I can stay *slightly* later at work without worry or feeling guilty about my dog at home if/when my husband and I are working on the same days 2) Merlin is super tired on hike days and I can tell he's a very happy puppy and 3) His recall got WAY better ever since he started going on hikes 4) There have been weeks last minute where we need to send him multiple days and they have always done their best to accommodate. Lastly, the price is unbeatable-- such good value for great care and I'm pretty sure the longest hikes available. Highly *highly* recommend Rain Dogs.

We have been using Hunter and Rain (City) Dogs services since April 2014. Over the years, Hunter has become an essential member of our family! Judging by Jimmy's excited reaction each and every time the door opens and she appears, he agrees. As his owners, we particularly love how beyond exhausted Jimmy is when he gets back from an adventure walk. I'm sure if Jimmy could talk he would tell us how fun his days are. Hunter is warm, caring and an excellent dog wrangler; the pictures she manages to get of the dogs on walks are just one example of her exemplary skills. We recommend Hunter to literally everyone (and have) with a dog who needs to spend time outside.

Daisy Mae is always so excited to get to go hiking with Hunter's pack, and I love knowing that she is getting a ton of exercise and play with her buddies while I am at work!

We adopted Whiskey as a rescue in early 2015 with no previous dog ownership experience and Rain Dogs has been with us since day one (literally, Hunter came with us to the final adoption interview as support!).
After we got him home we came to realize he was very easily overstimulated, and poorly socialized, as well as much younger than we had thought. He was highly leash reactive but we were unable to have him off leash due to the lack of socialization and poor recall.
For first time dog owners, it was a lot to take on, but Hunter helped us come up with a 100% positive reinforcement training plan, which we followed ardently, and that in tandem with learning healthy socialization within the stability and structure of hiking with the Rain Dogs pack, within 3 months we were able to walk him on leash around our neighborhood and walk him off leash on trails and parks with zero issue. Two years later, and Whiskey's weird, playful, energetic personality is able to shine bright and our family is able to have a happy, unrestricted lifestyle.
The confidence and capability Hunter shows with her dog pack is incredible. As a family friend, I have had the pleasure of accompanying her on hikes, and I have never seen one of her dogs out behave out of her control (even mine!). It is an environment of respect; she treats her dogs with respect and they respect her, and in turn, the dogs learn to respect each other. Hunter definitely puts the well-being and healthy dynamic of her pack first, and it shows in how well they get along and how well they behave. I can say that Whiskey adores every one of the friends in the Rain Dogs pack, in fact his little nub tail wiggles so hard that his feet actually leave the floor when the truck pulls up outside of our house.
And for us, having him exercised and socialized makes it so much easier for us to work with him at home. It reduces his minor bad behaviors significantly and makes our solo trips to the park/trails much more enjoyable because he's learned how to behave in these environments in the joy and stability of his friend pack.

Our dog has been joining Hunter on full day Adventure walks since 2015. Hunter has been amazing for our family! She not only brings Hana (our full of beans chocolate lab) home ready for a serious nap but she treats all her dogs like her own and really get to know their personalities and behaviors.

We worked with Rain Dogs since 2015, and were absolutely delighted with Hunter’s professionalism, responsiveness, skill and above all, care for our dog Ruby. When our beloved pooch is in the care of Hunter or her team, my family is 100% confident that Ruby will return happily exhausted after her beach run or mountain hike. Plus I know that Hunter has the skill and experience to handle unexpected glitches with other dogs, health emergencies or any other surprises - she’s a seasoned pro. On top of it all, the calendar gift we got from Rain Dogs, filled with gorgeous pictures of our dogs (how the heck did she get half a dozen dogs to pose on a beach log like that?!) was just incredible - we felt as pampered as Ruby!

When I moved back to Vancouver with my 6 month old shih tzu puppy, I was unable to find an apartment right away, so my little dog bounced around from home to home staying with many of my close friends. I finally decided she needed something more stable, as she was still growing and learning, so I placed her in the care of my vet, which also offered boarding. When I went in to visit her she was sleeping in her urine soaked bed and was being taken outside once a day. (A six month old puppy with a growing bladder needs to go outside much more often than once a day) As her owner, I knew that she wasn’t in a good place as her character was off.
I spoke to a few people that worked with dogs who recommended Rain Dogs to me. From that point on there was no turning back. My dog, Luna, just loves visiting Hunter, Strummer and the gang. Luna stayed with Hunter in her home for over a month and a half at only 6 months old. In her home, Luna has the freedom to run around freely, she is never caged, she learns new tricks, and goes to the beach or hikes into the mountains off-leash. Furthermore, because Luna had been moved around so often, her potty training had taken a few steps backwards. I explained that to Hunter and she had Luna back on track with potty training a bit over a week later. Luna is always just as excited to see Strummer and Hunter when I drop her off as she is to see me when I pick her up. Hunter is kind, compassionate and loving to her dogs – when you see them, it’s like looking at a group of dogs and a human that are the best of friends. I would never in a million years trust any other dog service now that I have seen just how above and beyond Hunter goes in her treatment of her dogs. If you want your dogs to be looked after, you have a plethora of choices to chose from; however, if you want your dog to be looked after and loved - this is it. Because while they’re with her, they’re just as important as her own dog – they all become “her dogs”.

In 2018, adopted a 1 yr old Great Dane mix that had poor leash manners and was reactive to other dogs and strangers. As a small woman, I approached Hunter to help me train my new large friend. What I got was a comprehensive lesson on what motivates the behaviour my dog was displaying and how to intercept and redirect him. 4 years later, that gift has allowed me to understand what my big boy needs in uncomfortable situations- Hunter trained me, so I could be the best provider to my dog.
